✿ Yesterday's Soil, Tomorrow's Seeds

Dearest reader, you have not been forgotten, despite what it may seem. I have had an eventful couple of days and during this time I also have gotten no homework done at all, either. Thankfully I didn't have any extra assignments this weekend, for the first time in several... It's just that, sometimes I think our minds freeze up in the same ways that our body gets a cold, and there's no real way to fight it, except to let yourself relax and recover. Do something else, or something unexpected. Friday was different for its own reasons, but Saturday, yesterday, was definitely one of those days. After bargaining with myself that I could comfortably rest until 12, and then I had to get up (having slept in an absurd five hours longer than when I usually wake up, which was a sign in itself), I realised that "productivity" was not happening, and my mind felt like it had seized up, so I decided to put the finishing touches on my apartment, instead.

All that said, now that it is done, I am so pleased with its new composition! And though I will not light it until December, I decided to put up my tree last night, too, (Argh! Syncretism! But it's so sparkly!)  since the next few weeks will likely not give me time to do so.

Now I have a living/dining room space, an office space, and bedroom space much like one makes garden-rooms in the same patch of land. My growing tent and plant supplies all have a place now, too. It feels more livable and... I am not sure how to describe it. It feels more still. It feels quieter and more comfortable, and more living, I guess, in its deliberateness. I gave away four large grocery bags of things I have not used in almost two years, that I couldn't say I remember once they are out the door. I threw out several bags of things that I simply couldn't practically pass on. And there is still much that I have kept, and nothing more at this time that I need to acquire... except plants, for which there is always room, and who will come in the spring.

...

As for my new project: On Friday I visited my plot, cleaned it up, and went to get some garlic-- just to plant for fun, and have something to look forward to in the spring. I had various kind wishes sent my way from friends and family, and by the end of the day I was quite talked-out. However, I did create a formal GoFundMe page, and I have at least one public and one private confirmed donor so far! (This will be so helpful!)

This morning I went back to the plot and sprinkled it with some organic fertilizer before planting some bulbs and covering it all with some straw. It's the first time I've ever used straw so we'll see how it goes.

All this said, it is going to be tedious and draining for me to report on my activities in two places at once, so I will cease reports on this front in this blog. I will be using Instagram, largely, since I like posting pictures with captions and it's something I can do that is quick.
